A short interview with my by caro snatch - 'artist engineer in word and sound' - about my non-compression aproach for Silence.
I just re-discovered a little movie by director Rick Minnich for which I made the sounddesign in 1993. It was 16mm film, and we had no digital version of it. All sounds were timed out with a stopwatch and then sequenced offline. But the result is still okay. A bit too much reverb. Delphi 1830
Find here a video to the track Infinite Snow from the Silence album. It also features a different edit of the original track. Enjoy!
I am curating the sound art exhibition 'Pulse Lab 10.0', which will present new auditive and audivisual works of my students from the Sound Studies department of the University of Arts in Berlin. The exhibition is part of the Transmediale media art festival 2010 in Berlin. Opening January 29 2010. Till February 7 2010.
A page dedicated to those who own Ableton Live and Max For Live, hosting a growing collection of devices. Ready to use, but also as a good way to explore how creating own M4L devices could be done.
It became quite a habit of mine to write a few words at the end of the year and publish them on the Monolake website. This year is no exception, and since the web stats tell me how many people are actually visiting this very personal window of mine, I feel very encouraged to keep the Monolake website a steadily growing, changing, morphing and hopefully insightful and entertaining advertisement free space. For me 2009 was a year with so many changes and diverse developments that it seems to be an impossible task trying to review it here. Instead, I'll keep it short. Most things which happened to me, be it on an artistic level or in my life in general, were very positive. 2009 ends with me being full of plans for the next year, and it ends with a lot of work too, that's for sure. I wish you all a successful, happy, healthy, peaceful and exciting 2010. Thank you for your support and interest in what I am doing. Thank you for buying records, cds, mp3s, thank you for coming to shows, and for the talks, emails, discussions, blogs, reviews, articles,...
