The Website 2008-11-24
I spent a bit of time to clean up the website. It is very likely that there are broken links now, but at least some important pages offer more info or are better structured to simplify navigation, like this one here or this one. Also, I put a second recording of a Layering Buddha Live performance online, recorded in Poland last weekend.
Drives 2008-12_01
Screenshots here are taken from the video installation Drives by Lisa Young, which will be shown at the Cue Art Foundation in Chelsea, New York from December 4th, 2008 till January 24th, 2009:
"Drives is a compilation of hundreds of 3-5 second shots edited from televised Professional Golf Association (PGA) footage. To create Drives I selected only those moments when the golf ball was floating in mid-air. The title incorporates the multiple meanings the word conveys: a long shot in golf, or a powerful need, emotion or instinct that motivates behavior. The movement of the ball is both graceful and erratic, seemingly random, yet structured by a system (the order in which the drives were made). The indeterminate white form suspended against a blue ground is both perpetually flying and falling, creating a series of fleeting moments that engage conditions of legibility, serial narrative, panorama, and chance." The interweb never fails to amaze me. As a result I found this video on YouTube, obviously from a designer or shop in Brasil, who used my music on a video. They did not bother to ask but they mentioned the source of the music. Wierd wide web.
